Key Personnel

Larry Fontaine
President
Larry Fontaine began working in the wall and ceilings systems industry since the young age of 15. He is the third generation in his family to take up trade tools, and he opened his first unionized contractor firm in 1978. Over the past 28 years, Larry has operated Kodiak Drywall Ltd. while also developing into a key figure known throughout the construction industry in B.C. He has served on numerous industry boards, including taking lead roles in the British Columbia Wall & Ceiling Trade Association. Today, Kodiak Drywall Ltd. operates as a successful and well-respected contractor firm. This is attributed mostly in part due to the high standards Larry insists upon himself as well as his entire staff.
Darryl Fontaine
Vice President
Darryl Fontaine began working in the wall and ceilings systems trade during secondary school. He started out as a labourer and then continued his training as an apprentice. During his school years and while working full-time on site, Darryl completed all the requirements for a 4-year apprenticeship and earned a Certificate of Qualification. In 1997, he returned to college and completed a Civil Engineering Technology program. He also received a diploma as a Graduate Civil Engineering Technologist. After achieving his accomplishments, Darryl rejoined Kodiak Drywall, and since then he has become both partner and director. He currently carries on the duties of estimating, procurement, and management.

Mel’s professional experience is working with specialty products such as acoustic panels and specialty ceilings. In 1993, Mel acquired his Certificate of Qualification.
